Easy Healthy Detox Smoothies,
Love the book & will share it with my friends! I’ve always tried to eat healthy, but have just recently learned about the importance of detoxing. This book was full of good tips & step by step instruction on how to detox. It is also chalk full of great recipes & ideas for tasty, tangy & yet very healthy good tasting smoothies.
I’ve been drinking a version of the Super Green Smoothie #7 recipe in the mornings with the ginger, lime & cucumbers as a great pick-me-up, it energizes & it keeps me full until noon. I have also been blending a version of the Popeye’s Drink in the late afternoon as an energy lift rather than reaching out for sugary or starchy snacks. It’s great to have actual recipes to follow rather than just guessing at what to put in the blender & end up with something that doesn’t taste so good.
Looking forward to trying most of the 35 recipes to add variety, lose weight & cleanse year round. I have also been thinking about getting a blender for work, so I can take this healthy habit of blending up quick healthy delights at work.

The Green Smoothie Detox Diet book gives the reader the basics of a detox plan which balances abnormal PH levels. Many medical articles have reported on the fact that bodily PH levels or acidity levels play a role in health and that imbalances in bodily PH may contribute to illness and death.
Am article published just this month in the Journal of Environmental Public Health reported that a review of medical articles on pH, potential renal acid loads, bone health, muscle, growth hormone, back pain, vitamin D and chemotherapy found that the use of an alkaline diet may reduce illness and death from chronic diseases.
The medical establishment is never quick to recommend nutritional supplements so this admission, that an alkaline diet may relieve symptoms of medical problems, is as good an endorsement as you are going to get.
The Green Smoothie Detox Diet-”Cleanse Your Way to Weight Loss-Simple and Easy Recipes for Beginners” contains over 30 recipes. The vast majority of these recipes are made with ingredients that are easy to find in any grocery store. The few ingredients that may not be found in your grocery can be easily found online or at a health food store.
You do not need elaborate equipment to start this diet. A blender will do and the variety is the recipes will keep you from getting bored with the diet. My favorite recipes are the ‘Spice up Your Life’ which tastes just like a Bloody Mary and the ‘Green Sweets’ that my kids just love.
The author recommends that you start with a three day Detox Plan and that you only do this after a “Pre-Detox”. The Pre-Detox will get you on the right track and is essentially a guide to eating real food that is not processed and mostly from vegetable sources. The diet is all explained in the book which is written clearly with very easy to follow instructions.

I didn’t know anything about alkalizing diets, or green smoothie diets for that matter, before I read this book. I’ve never tried anything like this before but always wanted to, which is why “for beginners” caught my eye on the cover. I don’t have time to prepare all my meals beforehand, like so many diets require you to do. These recipes take me 5 minutes, tops and I loved how SIMPLE this book kept everything.

My energy’s been way up & my body feels cleaner since I’ve started making these smoothies. I have that blender that lets you flip the glass part upside-down and it turns it into a cup so I make them right before I leave for work. I’ve only gotten through about a third of the recpies and I love most of them. Can’t wait to try the rest!
